Mentoring pathway · Technology Assurance and IT Audit

Develop practical capability in technology assurance and IT audit.

Build on your existing experience to understand technology risk, plan focused assurance work, evaluate evidence and communicate clear conclusions.

Who it is for

Suitable for

  • Internal auditors broadening into technology
  • Risk and compliance practitioners
  • IT professionals moving into assurance
  • Career changers, following an assessment of background and goals

Prerequisites

No single qualification is required. We assess your knowledge and experience; foundational audit, risk or technology learning may be recommended before specialist work.

The Technology Assurance Practitioner Bootcamp can be a useful foundation. It is optional — equivalent knowledge and experience also support entry, and content you have already covered there is not charged twice.

Learning focus

What you will work on

  • Business processes and technology dependencies
  • Risk assessment, objectives and scope
  • IT general controls, cyber, cloud and third-party risk fundamentals
  • Control design and operating effectiveness
  • Evidence assessment, testing and professional judgement
  • Findings, recommendations and executive communication
Example outputs

What participants work towards

  • A scoped audit plan
  • A risk and control matrix with selected tests
  • An evidence assessment
  • A written finding and summary conclusion

Exact assignment entitlement belongs to the selected package. Portfolio work uses fictional or sanitised cases and is labelled as simulated learning. Outcomes depend on the selected package and participation; the programme does not guarantee employment, promotion or certification.
